Hi. I just stumbled onto your blog and decided to comment. I don't know if you remember me, but I semi-met you once before, on Tia's Fantasy Debut page.
The video is hilarious. I just spent the day canning apple pie filling with my mother, so it was especially appropriate. :)
Pickled beets? That sounds... interesting. We've never grown beets. My mother was raised on a dairy farm in PA and has tried to make sure we know how to can and cook. I admit I've been tempted by the Dark Side, usually around August when all the fruit and veggies come in at once, and it starts to feel like you're LIVING in the kitchen. :)
I know what you mean; canning can be a full time job. I must say, I don’t make as much conserves as I used to. Pickled beets are delicious by the way; they have a very sweet taste. I also love, LOVE pumpkin jam and was tempted to make some this week. My husband said that if I made some he would eat it, but he would not like it. :/ Made me reconsider the whole thing.
