Postponed again
I’m afraid I have bad news. The King’s Daughters’ release date has been push back again. I have to admit I am quite disappointed by this. As for the new release date, it is still undetermined at this point. To all of you who are waiting for this book, I thank you for your patience.
Thanks Tia and Kailana. I appreciate your concern and support. I hope the delay won’t be too long. As for snippets, I already have the first chapter posted. I don’t know how much more I can put online though. However, I do have another post coming about one of the themes explored in the book.
Hi Nathalie As I wrote you before, I am really disappointed with Nightshade. You and Liz Williams are my only can't miss that are currently being published by this company. As a result I am not planning to buy any book by a new author from them, as I do not wish to get hooked and then disappointed. Have you considered Thor or any other publishing firm for your books or even selling it as a download? I personally prefer hardcover printed material but after waiting almost a year anything will be better than Nightshade.
I certainly do remember you, and I understand your frustration regarding all these delays. It is disappointing to say the least. However, switching publisher or releasing an e-version is not an option for me, because I have a binding contract with Night Shade that includes both paper and electronic versions—the norm in the publishing industry. I can only hope that this is the last delay. Thank you for inquiring about this problem. I appreciate your comments. Please, keep in touch.
Have they given any explanation as to why this keeps happening? It has been nearly a year now since the original alleged release date, and I'm surely not the only one who's curious as to what is behind the repeated postponements.
I’m a mystery, science fiction and fantasy writer. I grew up in Shippagan, New Brunswick, but now lives in Prince George, British Columbia with my husband and two Scottish terriers. For those who are wondering how to pronounce my name, the H in Nathalie is silent, and Mallet is pronounced like ballet, the dance, but with an M.
The Princes of the Golden Cage is the first installment in the Prince Amir Mystery series. The third book in the series, Death in the Traveling City, is now available.

Oh, I'm so sorry! You tell those editors that your readers will start getting ugly if they keep yanking that release date out from under us like that!
Will they permit you to post snippets in the meantime?
That's too bad! Hopefully it won't be pushed back too long!

Honestly, I don’t know the reason behind those delays. Sorry!
Sorry to hear that Nathalie. I was looking forward to reading it (and being able to sell it at the bookstore!) Hope it's just a short delay.
Hopefully that’s all it is, Chadwick. I'll know more in a bit.
