Back from Vegas

My husband and I just got back from Vegas…after twelve hours in airports. We had a wonderful time over there. The weather was mild, 70 to72 degree. We were lucky, apparently, the week before it was coldish. The shows were amazing, and the food delicious. Although I suspect MSG was present in some dishes. To go back to the subject of the shows, the most beautiful one we saw was Love. It’s spectacular and lyrical. Plus we know all the songs. I caught myself singing along many times. But the most fun we had was at the Blue Men Group’s. I did not expect this show to be so good. It was a wonderful surprise. It is entertainment at its best. It’s innovative, interactive and funny. LOVED IT! It’s a must see.

Adios Snow

I’ve been working extra hard on Core-Bound lately; I want to finish this editorial pass before we leave for Vegas. It’s working. I only have a handful of chapters left to do. I can’t wait to escape winter. I know Vegas isn’t warm at this time of year, but it beats shovelling snow and tiptoeing on ice. I fell twice walking the dogs this morning. I won’t miss that. Plus, we have tickets for a couple of shows—Cirque du Soleil’s Love, Jersey Boys and Tournament of Kings—so I’m really looking forward to it.

Too Cute

We made a short trip to the pet shop last weekend. We need doggy toothpaste. Yep, I brush my dogs’ teeth. The girls were intrigued by that fluffy bunny.

Slashing

I’ve started editing my new adult sci-fi novel entitled Core-Bound. I did too many revisions on that novel; as a result it is now overwritten. So I’m going at it with a knife. I mercilessly cut out eight pages from the first three chapters. It’s going better than I anticipated, and it’s almost painless.

Coming up for air

I finally finished storing away the Christmas decorations. Phew, I’m glad it’s done and that the house is looking normal again. The holidays are fun, but oh so tiring, this year more so than usual. We entertained a lot at home and were invited to several parties as well, without much break in between. So I’m feeling a little drained. Nothing a day or two of rest can’t fix, though. Just as well, because Monday I have to revisit one of my manuscripts, with revision in mind, (I’ll say more on the subject in my next post.) and look for a beta-reader. Wish me luck!

Here’s my favorite Christmas gift.
My hubby knows me well. ;-)
